The Chief shal1 preside at all <br />I!meetings of the Department and be in charge of the Department oper - <br />'Ition at fires, drills, emergency calls, an~ other Departmental <br />j,functions. It shall be the duty of the Ch~ef to enforce the <br />'I applicable provisions of this ordinance and established rules and <br />~ regulations of the Department. The Chief shall review and verify <br />IIDepartment payrolls. The Chief shall have control overall of the <br />I fire-fighting apparatus and shall be solely responsible for its <br />I care and condition. The Chief shall make an annual report to the <br />. City Manager no later than .July 1 each year andwith such report <br />! present budget requests for the subsequent ]ear. The Chief may <br />,Isubmit additional reports and recommendations as directed by the <br />IICity Councilor Manager. The Chief shall be responsible for the <br />Iproper training and discipline of the members of the Department, a d <br />',:'. may suspend any membe. r for refusal or neglect to obey orders pendi <br />a review by the,members of the Department and final' action by the <br />IManager. <br /> <br />I The Chief shall keep in convenient form a complete record of all <br />II fires. Such a record shall include the time of the' alarm, locatio <br />I of the fire, cause of the fire (if known), type of building, name <br />,'of owner and tenant, purpose for which occupied, value of building <br />! and contents, members of the Department responding to the alarm, <br />and such oth~r information as he may deem advisable or as maybe <br />Irequired from time to time by the Manager. <br />~ <br /> <br />II Subd. 3. Duties of Assistant Chief. The Assistant Chief <br />II: shall, during the absence of the Chief, exercise all duties of the <br />I Chief. <br />:I <br />II Subd.. 4. The C~ptains and Dr ill Master. The Captains and <br />i!Drill Master shall perform such duties as specified by the Chief. <br />1, <br />II Subd. 5. Secretarv-Treasurer. The Secretary-Treasurer shall <br />;1 give notice of and record the transactions of all meetings. He <br />Ilshall submit such reports as directed by the Chief. The Secretary <br />!ITreaSurer shall receive from the City Clerk Treasurer payroll for <br />ll.me.mbers of the department and shall distribute such payroll to the <br />!I member s . <br />!I <br />II <br />1\ <br />II <br />II <br />II <br />i <br />I <br />l <br />d <br />Ii <br />!I <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Subd. 6. <br /> <br />General Duties of Members. <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />All members shall perform duties assigned by the Chief or <br />other officers in charge. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />No member shall leave the scene of a fire or other emerge <br />or fail to complete assigned duties after a fire or <br />emergency call unless excused by an officer in charge. <br /> <br />y <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />NO member shall remove any fire apparatus or equipment <br />or attempt to fix or repair such equipment unless <br />authorized by the officer in charge. <br /> <br />,I <br />
